In this project, I've taken on the task of redesigning Nord's webpage, focusing specifically on one of their flagship product - the Nord Piano 5.

Nord has earned its reputation as a premier manufacturer of high-end keyboards, with its instruments gracing stages and studios worldwide. Offering a rich variety of sounds, effects, and customizable options for sound design, Nord keyboards are meticulously crafted to deliver an authentic piano-playing experience. Their professional-grade keys ensure that players feel as if they're playing a real piano.

Adaptable to any musical style, Nord keyboards cater to a diverse spectrum of artists across all genres, cementing their status as industry staples.

Undoubtedly, Nord plays a significant role in shaping the soundtrack of modern music, with their keyboards featuring prominently in countless popular songs.

PROBLEM

The current Nord Piano 5 product page is overwhelming for users, burdening them with excessive information and creating a cognitive load.
 It's densely packed with text but fails to deliver the product's story in an engaging or captivating manner. This layout fails to engage users in an immersive experience, lacking the appeal necessary to ignite passion for the product and entice them to make a purchase.

SOLUTION

The new design was crafted with the intention of narrating the keyboard's story in an immersive manner, guiding users through its diverse features interactively. By organizing the content into subcategories and adjusting the hierarchy, we ensure that users are not overwhelmed and instead, feel encouraged to explore the keyboard's functionalities. This approach fosters a sense of connection between the user and the product, facilitating a more engaging experience.

COMPETITORS

TEENAGE ENGINEERING - OP1

The utilization of high-resolution, captivating images of the product not only provides users with a vivid representation of the item but also exudes a sense of luxury and enhances the overall aesthetics when navigating through the website.
The design is very clean and elegant, utilizing minimal colors to highlight the product's button colors, which complement the white shade of the product itself.
The font's hierarchy between uppercase and lowercase letters is intriguing. The use of lower case letters for titles invites readers in, creating a light and inviting atmosphere. Conversely, the capital letters in the product description convey a sense of professionalism.
Using witty and humorous copy in headlines creates a sense of personal appeal, perfectly matching the youthful and fashionable vibe of the product.

In the first fold, a close-up video of the product provides users with an in-depth view, allowing them to fully appreciate its details and mechanics.
The site features dynamic elements, including moving images and a parallax effect, making scrolling enjoyable and engaging, encouraging users to continue exploring.
The website's visuals are directly inspired by the product. The header is segmented into rectangular divisions, mirroring the product's sections. Additionally, straight lines are frequently used throughout the site, echoing the product's design.
The site guides users through the product's story and features using subtitles and numbering, providing a seamless and structured narrative with a clear beginning, middle, and end.

PERSONA

Kimberly Smith, 37

Owner of a recording studio, New York

Kimberly runs a small recording studio in New York that has been operating for four years. There, she records young artists and produces tracks for bands she either plays in or collaborates with. While more seasoned artists typically bring their own keyboards, Kimberly has recently been working with several young bands who don't yet have professional-grade keyboards. Currently, she has older Yamaha keyboards in the studio, but she's keen to upgrade to a new, high-quality keyboard that will serve her well for years to come.

In between recording sessions, Kimberly conducts market research to find the right keyboard for her studio. She's familiar with Nord keyboards and has heard positive feedback about their performance, but she's concerned about durability due to the high traffic of musicians passing through her studio. She's willing to invest in a reliable, professional-grade product that can withstand frequent use over time.
